Video
Pretty soon I will be posting a video of some highlight goals and pictures of the 2008 season.
Penn Game
The Black Knights ended their saeson on another loss. So for all the seniors out there who are done with lacrosse I hope you played your heart out and gave everything you have. There is always next year to go to the tournament, but for the seniors they will never have that chance again.
The Sophmores are ranked fourth for the best class recruted so we should have a great season next year with them coming back and the freshman to help us get used to our team and plays.
The final score for the Penn game was 11- 10. Goals by: Jeremy Boltus scored 2 and so did Jason Peyer and Brooks Korvin. Andrew Maisano had 1, Alex Rhoads had 1, Sean Reppard had 1, and Scott Rosenshein had 1. It was a close game but in the end the Penn Quakers pulled away.

Bucknell Playoff Game
On friday night the Black Knights had another devastating loss. They came so close but not close enough. The Army team lost by just two goals. They had the lead early but just couldn't hold on to it.
The sophmores had a steller game and the senior Jason Peyer had three goals. Rob McCallion had an assist. Tom Palesky had 11 saves. Brooks Korvin put Army on the board first after scooping up a ground ball; and the freshman midfielder Sean O'Sullivan scored 1 goal to tie the score, 4-4 heading into halftime.
Army would net two-unanswered goals to take the first two goal lead of the game. Senior midfielder Kevin LoRusso scored one goal and junior midfielder Tyler Oates scored one too.
The Black Knights just couldn't step up the way the other teams do in the playoffs.

Patriot League Playoffs
The Black Knights did it! They made it to the Patriot League Playoffs! They still have a chance to make it to the NCAA tournament. In order to make it they had to have one major thing happen. Lafayette had to beat LeHigh by 1 and only by 1 or another team would go to the tournament. And Lsfayette did win and by 1! So we made it.

Duke Game
The Black Knights put up a good fight against Duke, but the #7 ranked Duke pulled away and won the game. The final score was 10-6 Blue Devils. We took the lead in the beginning of the game 2-0, but Duke's midfield put in a goal to shorten the lead to 1 goal. The Army fans thought that we wouldn't get blown away and we would put up a good fight. With a goal by Boltus the Knights went up 3-2 again with the lead. This lead was the last lead the Black Knights would have during this game. But with the Blue Devils having a stellar offense soon caught up and went ahead. The Blue Devils went on a 5 unanswered goal streak, and the Black Knights just couldn't catch up and they came up 4 goals short. But just before halftime the army squad was able to cut the lead to two going into the third. But when the teams got back on the field the Blue Devils had 3 unanswered goals to pull away for good.
Jason Peyer had three goals to help the Black Knights. Tom Palesky had 12 saves during the tough loss. Boltus had one goal. And Brooks Korvin had two goals, including the sixth and final goal for Army.

Play-By-Play Blog
On the Army Athletics page there is a blog that gives you play-by-plays of the game that night. They report scores, saves, shots, goals, assists, penalties, pregame reviews and aftergame reviews, and defensive/offensive plays. The website is https://www.nmnathletics.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=11100&KEY=&SPID=4573&SPSID=48015. Then you just click the game or anything you want to see or look up.

Lafayette Game
Finally a win for the Black Knights. With the 13-12 win over the Leopards. It was a tight game. The Leopards were pulling away late in the second quater with a 3 goal lead. Then the Leopards extended their lead and it just looked like the Black Knights couldn't catch up, almost as if they ran out of steam. Palesky had 8 saves in the first half and was playing prettty well, but a couple of goals got by him in the first half. But from out of no where the Black Knights of the Hudson came back like a power house, and had a 7 goal streak with unanswered goals by the Leopards.
Jeremy Boltus who was up for the Weekend MVP (the weekend of the Lafayette game), had three goals and four assists to help the Black Knights finally claim a win. The Hendersons played a great in the game! Peyer once again was putting the ball in the goal with his fast feet, beating everyone. Rob McCallion had great looks and helped in the transitions.

Navy Game
Saturday was yet another devastating loss for the Black Knights. The final score 8-4 with the Midshipman taking the game. The Midshipman's goalie was amazing. He was so solid that the Black Knights were only able to score 4 goals. Kevin LoRusso started the game off strong with the first goal and by carrying out the flag. With many attempts to catch up throughout the game the first couple of minutes the Naval Academy had to make the attempts to catch up. Peyer had a goal and then Kevin LoRusso had his second. The fourth and final goal was scored by Brooks Korvin.
Tom Palesky played his heartout and in the final minute got a flag called against him because of frustration and an accidental cross check.

The Bucknell Game
The Black Knights just can't catch a break with all of these heartbreaking losses. The Knights have suffered yet another devastating loss to the Bucknell Bison. It was a tough and hard fought game on both sides. At a couple points Army was ahead, but just couldn't keep the lead. The Bison pulled their lead to four late in the fourth quarter. With only a couple minutes left the Army squad cut that lead to two, but there just wasn't enough time to come back.
I hate to point out negatives but every team has them. The freshman LSM Tim Henderson, who has been playing excellent, got burnt a few times in this game, which produced easy goals.
And once again critical goals and great preformance came from Sophomores Jeremy Boltus and Rob McCallion. The sophmore goalkeeper Tom Palesky played a great game once again trying to defeat the Bison, which they just can't seem to do.
The Knights just can't get over these close games and they need a win to boost up their confidence.

Colgate Game
Another tough loss for the Black Knights on Sunday. It looks like the Black Kinghts just can't catch a break in the overtime situation games. The Black Knights lost 10-9 to the undeafeated Patriot League team, Colgate. Tom Palesky saved 14 shots in this heartbreaker. Once again the sophomore class helped Army stay in this game, with great defense by Bill Henderson and John Ciavarelli. Another great offfensive game by the sophomore class, with Jeremy Boltus with two goals and Rob McCallion with one. In the first overtime the Black Knights had two oppurtunities to seal a victory. The Black Knights won the faceoff and slowed the ball down. Rob McCallion took a great shot but hit post. Jeremy Boltus took another shot a minute or two later but it flew over the goal. Freshman LSM Tim Henderson has been having an incredible year so far. With one goal yesterday and outstanding defensive preformance he is one of the best freshman defenseman in the Nation!

Army Sports Page
After the devastating loss on tuesday the Black Knight supporters gave a summery of the game including goals, assists, and qoutes from the coach. I think that the Knights put up a good fight and instead of putting their heads down after this defeat they should use it as fuel to dominate the Patriot League.

Hofstra Game
Last night's game was a very difficult game for the black knights. They lost such close game in double overtime against Hofstra. The knights had many opportunities to seal the victory, but the couldn't finish. The #6 Hofstra had difficulty handling the black knights and getting a good lead. Unfortunately Hofstra was able to get one last goal in the second overtime. The black knights put up a good fight and came so close a couple times but the goalkeeper for Hofstra was every where. Tom Palesky was a brick wall on tuesday night with 18 saves.

Holy Cross Game
The Black Knights made the ride up to Massachussets on Saturday March 21, 2009 to compete against league rival Holy Cross, at 12 on the dot. The game started with a riffled shot by Rob McCallion. Senior attackman Jason Peyer added two goals and two assists for the Black Knights. Senior captian Kevin LoRusso added two goals to put the Black Knights ahead. Sophomore goalkeeper Tom Palesky was a brick wall on Saturday with 18 saves. Long pole freshman midfielder Tim Henderson scored a goal on open net in the second quarter. Andrew Maisano scored a goal right off the bat at the start of the third quarter. Sophmore attacker Jeremy Boltus tallied in one goal for the Knights. Tyler Oates added a goal for Army. Senior faceoff specialist Sean Reppard won 12 of 17 faceoffs.
Army will host #6 Hofstra on Tuesday night at 7 under the lights of Michie Stadium. The game will be nationally televised by ESPNU.

Army vs Navy Coming Soon
Every fan of lacrosse should be marking their calendar for one of the greatest rivals in sporting competition. The annual Army vs Navy lacrosse game. This year it will take place on April 11 at MT&T Bank Stadium in Maryland. The Cadets won the advantage last year as they dominated the Navy midshipman! The season is not going well for the Midshipman this year, and Army is stronger than ever, the Navy coaches have already been seen at games trying to scout a way to beat Army this year. The old saying GO Army Sink Navy is becoming an expectation as Army looks for a repeat performance from last year. And after looking at the Navy Schedule, I expect the Black Knights to come out dominating again. The Army goalie is dominant and is the number one goalie in NCAA!
Army Offense
The Black Knights of the Hudson have a great first line of midfielders returning from their great season last year. They are led by Sophomore Rob McCallion who was ranked the seventh best freshman in the Country. He has the stellar stick skills that it takes to compete at the Division I level and he is a great team player. He along with Kevin LaRusso and Anthony Maisano take on the long poles and the short sticks to orchestrate a beautiful offense in motion. The attack led by Jason Peyer, Brooks Korvin and Jeremy Boltus, have combined for over 50 goals already this season. They pass and move better than both the Duke and the Hopkins offense. Clearly this year Army defense will be on the radar as one of the best in Division I but their offensive units will dominate the lacrosse season, with style, speed and skill. The Navy team should be scared this year, as they will not be able to compete with this year's army team!
Army Defense
The strength of the Army team lies with its defensive squad, headed by Bill Henderson, Tim Henderson and John Civarelli. All three are young, have fast stick skills and are team players. Each guy knows exactly where the offensive man will be on a clear and they run a fast break as smooth as Kobe Bryant. The defense has not allowed many goals this season, up until last night's game. Look for more headlines detailing the strength and the determination of this young but one of the top three defensive units in the NCAA as well as one of the strongest in the patriot league this season. Tom Palesky, Army's goalie has denied access to the net all season, and is one of the best Divison I goalies in the country.
Army Lacrosse
Last evening Army lost a tough game versus Lehigh. The team led by nine goals at one point. Many fans walked away frustrated and in disbelief. The Army lacrosse team did play a great first half with tremendous passing and great defense. The second half was a different story, losing all the faceoffs Army rarely had possession, and the other team was able to connect on nine straight goals. Even though I was disappointed, I still believe that Army will finish a strong schedule with more wins than loses and hopefully, they will win the Patriot League and that the team will have an automatic bid to this year's NCAA playoffs in Baltimore. Once again, led by a dominating sophmore class.

2008 Season
In case you haven't noticed or looked at the sidebar yet there are a couple videos on Army Lacrosse from 2008.

Army Lacrosse
The Army Lacrosse team played a tenacious game this past weekend defeating Air Force. There is no doubt in my mind that this lacrosse team will be a cinderella team come May and will find their ranking among the top 20 this season. Sophomore's Bill Henderson, Jeremy Boltus, Tom Palesky and Rob McCallion are leading the team and are definitely among the top sophomore's in the country this year.
